Keeping your investment account secure is an important part of investing online. VIAINVEST works to protect investor accounts on its side, but account security should also be proactive.
Using the security tools available in your account adds an extra layer of protection and helps reduce the risk of unauthorized access.
VIAINVEST applies platform-level safeguards. Deposits and withdrawals are allowed only through bank accounts belonging to the investor, and each investor must complete identification before accessing investment and payment functionality.
This guide covers the most relevant account security settings and explains how they help protect your VIAINVEST account.
Start from the security settings
You can manage account security from the Security and Account tabs in the Your account section.
This is where you can enable Two-Factor Authentication, manage security related notifications, and review recent login activity. These features are designed to help you protect your account and notice unusual activity more easily.
Enable and use Two-Factor Authentication
Two-Factor Authentication, or 2FA, adds an extra step when signing in to your account.
Instead of relying only on your password, you will also need to enter a 6-digit code from an authentication app. This makes it much harder for someone else to access your account, even if they somehow get your password.
To enable 2FA, switch on Two-Factor Authentication in the Security tab. The platform will guide you through the setup process. You will be asked to scan a QR code with your authentication app. If you cannot scan the QR code, you can enter the setup key manually.
After that, you will need to enter the 6-digit code generated by the app to verify the setup.
After setting up 2FA, you will receive backup codes. These are one-time-use codes that can help you access your account if you lose access to your authentication app or device.
Save your backup codes somewhere safe before completing the setup, as they may not be shown again later.
Once 2FA is enabled, you will be asked to enter your authentication code when signing in. The verification button becomes active only after all six digits are entered. If the code is incorrect, expired, or entered incorrectly too many times, the platform will show an error message or temporarily limit further attempts for security reasons.
If you cannot access your authentication app, you can use one of your saved backup codes. Each backup code can be used only once. If you have used all backup codes or cannot access them, you will need to contact VIAINVEST support for assistance.
You can find step-by-step 2FA instructions in the FAQ section.
Manage account and security notifications
Email notifications for essential account updates and security notifications are always enabled and cannot be disabled.
This means you will continue to receive important messages related to your account, including security-related activity. These notifications help you react quickly if something changes and you did not make that change yourself.
You may also choose to receive optional emails from VIAINVEST about product updates. These are separate from mandatory account and security notifications and can be managed in your notification settings in the Account tab.
Review your login history
The Security tab also shows recent login sessions.
This includes information such as IT address, detected location, and last login time. Reviewing this list occasionally can help you spot unfamiliar access.
You do not need to check login history every day. It is enough to review it from time to time, especially after receiving a security alert, changing devices, or noticing anything unusual in your account.
If you see a login you do not recognize, change your password and contact VIAINVEST support.
Keep account security proactive
Account security is not something to set once and forget completely. It is better to treat it as a simple habit.
Use a strong and unique password, keep your email account secure, and enable Two-Factor Authentication. Also pay attention to mandatory security notifications and platform announcements.
Security is always evolving. VIAINVEST will continue adding new security features to provide more peace of mind for investors. Follow the latest VIAINVEST news to learn about new releases and account protection updates.
